In this kit, an analysis of simulated urine samples is conducted in order to understand the procedures used in urinalysis and the potential applicability of urinalysis as a diagnostic tool. Urinalysis is performed by adding reagents to a urine sample. Different reagents will react with substances in the urine in an observable way, providing evidence that is used to identify these substances. Students will test simulated urine samples for pH, density, glucose, phosphates, and chlorides. All reagents are provided. Only a hot plate, Bunsen burner, and test tubes are needed additionally. Kit contains enough material for 15 lab groups of two students each. WARNING: Choking Hazard. Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.
